Dr. Niels Cornelisse

Dr. L. Niels Cornelisse obtained his PhD in biophysics at the Radboud University in Nijmegen in 2004 where he made mathematical models of the frog brain. He moved to Amsterdam for a post-doctoral training in electrophysiology at the Center for Neurogenomics and Cognitive Research (CNCR) at the VU University Medical Center (VUmC). Currently he is assistant professor and head of the Synaptic Computation group in the same center. His group focuses on systems biology of the synapse, combining electrical recordings in neurons with modeling of neural systems.
